Chetan Sakariya, an Indian bowler, thanked his previous team, Rajasthan Royals, for providing him the chance to flourish in the IPL. Sakariya, who was not retained by RR, was signed by the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 super auction on Sunday.
Sakariya appeared in all 14 games for RR last season, taking 14 wickets at a 30.42 average. His greatest bowling stats were 3/31 and an economy rate of 8.19. Sakariya, who hails from the Gujarat hamlet of Bhavnagar, looked up to Sheldon Jackson, who gave him his first pair of shoes to begin training.
On Day 2 of the IPL super auction on Sunday, Sakariya was purchased by the Delhi Capitals for Rs 4.2 crore. As teams prepare for the blockbuster IPL 2022 season, the great bowler will be in action for the Delhi-based club in a few weeks.
Sakariya, who earned his India debut after starring for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, says his time with the team helped him navigate the “learning curve.” Sakariya had a solid debut season in the IPL and will be eager to prove his worth.
“For me, one season of IPL with the Rajasthan Royals was a huge opportunity and a steep learning curve. I’d want to thank all of my colleagues and the RR support staff for all I’ve learned from them “On Monday, Sakariya shared the message on KOO.
“I will be eternally thankful to them for their belief in me. A special thanks to Zubeen sir and Rommy sir for their unwavering support. It’s time to start fresh with the Delhi Capitals “He continued.
