Charles Leclerc takes the win at Red Bull Ring, Austria
Formula 1: After a win in Silverstone, Ferrari make it 2 wins in a row in Austria, after Charlec Leclerc beat Verstappen to win the race.
Charles Leclerc made it consecutive wins for Scuderia Ferrari, after Carlos Sainz went on to win his first ever GP at Silverstone, last week.
This was a weekend, where the sprint race was going to be held.
In qualifying 1 on Friday, Max Verstappen saw off Sainz and Leclerc, to claim pole for the sprint race. He then comfortably won the sprint race, which meant he starts on pole yet again, this season.
But, this time around Ferrari had the quicker car throughout. Red Bull’s Sergio Perez was involved in a crash with George Russell. The latter had been handed a 5 second penalty for causing the crash.
Unfortunately, Perez could not continue his race for long and his car was retired. This meant that Verstappen was left alone to deal with the 2 Ferrari’s.
Both Leclerc and Sainz showed incredible pace throughout the race as Leclerc passed Max Verstappen twice while Sainz, who looked assured for 2nd today, had to retire the car due to an engine failure.
A disappointing end for Sainz. Last week, he won the race in Silverstone and this week, he looked destined to finish second, before smoke came out of his car.

Sainz did park the car away from the track but, it was not long before a fire brokeout. Marshals came in the nick of time to help Sainz out of the car and away from danger.
The race resumed and Leclerc had a bit of a problem, with dirt slipping into his car but, he managed it well to take the win and the 25 points.
Championship leader Max Verstappen came in 2nd and record F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton finished in 3rd.

Esatban Ocon had a great weekend, as he finished in 4th, above both the Haas and McLaren’s.
Mick Schumacher, who was voted – Driver of the Day, finished 5h and scored points in consecutive races. He was followed by the Lando Norris, his teammate Kevin Magnussen and the other McLaren driver, Daniel Ricciardo.
