CAB has asked the BCCI to allow spectators to watch the T20I series.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) appealed on Thursday that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) allow spectators to watch the T20I series against the West Indies at Eden Gardens. The T20I series between India and the West Indies begins on February 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. CAB said in a statement that “the topic relating to the hosting of the three T20 international matches between India and the West Indies was examined threadbare.”

“The members were informed that the CAB had asked the BCCI to allow spectators at the location. The BCCI’s response is pending. CAB remains optimistic about a favourable outcome “It was also mentioned.

The CAB’s Apex Council Meeting also accepted the resolution that the Eden Gardens’ floodlight system must be renovated and that an LED system with DMX capability should be installed as soon as possible.

Furthermore, the members accepted the fixtures and tournament rules for the next league tournaments in both the first and second divisions, and it was determined that the fixtures may be released immediately.

“Keeping in mind the present relaxations provided by the State Government, the registration window for the players has been extended to February 28, 2022, so that it is simpler for the clubs, units, and players to come and complete their registration requirements,” CAB added.

The Apex Council praised Avishek Porel and Ravi Kumar for their outstanding bowling performances in the U19 World Cup-winning Indian squad.
