After testing negative for Covid-19, India opener Shikhar Dhawan and middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer have been cleared to workout. They are, however, ruled out of the second One-Day International (ODI) slated for Wednesday in Ahmedabad.
Under the cautious eye of the BCCI medical experts, Iyer and Dhawan went through some light training at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Ruturaj Gaikwad, a young opener, is still in the stands. Shreyas Iyer, Dhawan, Ruturaj, and Navdeep Saini have already tested positive for Covid-19 prior to the first ODI against the West Indies.
Four additional people have tested positive for COVID-19, including net bowler Navdeep Saini. Saini was on the waiting list. Saini, meanwhile, had recovered from COVID-19 and had practised in the nets on Monday.
As a result, all of these players were unable to play in the first ODI against the West Indies. In the first ODI, the Rohit-led team trounced the Windies by six wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium. India will try to clinch the series when they face the West Indies in the second ODI of the three-match series on Wednesday in Ahmedabad.
