Ben Stokes is the new Test Captain of England
England have confirmed the rumor by announcing Ben Stokes as the latest Test Captain of England, following Joe Roots resignation earlier this month.
Ben Stokes, who was the vice captain of England, under the leadership of Joe Root, has taken over the reigns from him.
Along with this, former South African batsman Gary Kirsten will take over the role of a coach for red ball cricket for England. Kirsten led India to their 2nd ever world cup victory in 2011.

The first task at hand for Ben Stokes would be to lead England against World Test Champions New Zealand at home, starting 2nd June.
It will be a 3 match series, ending 27th June.
Following this, there is a match against India, starting 1st July. This is the 6th and final test of a long ongoing test series, which had been delayed due to a rise in covid cases in the Indian camp.
India lead the series 2-1.
The Test match against India will be followed by a 3 match T20I series. This will act as valuable practice, for the forthcoming World Cup, later this year.
England Men’s cricket managing director Rob Key shares his view on the appointment of Ben Stokes.
“He epitomizes the mentality and approach we want to take this team forward into the next era of red-ball cricket. I am delighted that he has accepted, and he is ready for the added responsibility and the honour. He thoroughly deserves the opportunity,” Key said.
