A Decision Will Be Conveyed: Virat Kohli On SA Tour
Back from his much-needed break, Team India captain Virat Kohli on Thursday addressed a pre-match press conference about the Test series against New Zealand and upcoming uncertain tour of South Africa. He had taken some time off from the game after spending a few months in bio-bubbles.
On Friday team India will go against New Zealand for their second test match which will start at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai with the series being hooked at 0-0. The match will see the return of India skipper Virat Kohli, despite, his return having left some choice difficulty for the team.
Virat Kohli has said he is sure that they will have “absolute clarity” around the South Africa tour in “a day or two or pretty soon.”
“There’s a lot of planning going on. Rahul bhai (Dravid) has started a conversation. Need to be realistic, don’t want to be in a situation where there’s confusion. We’re sure that decision will be conveyed to us by the board in the coming days,” Kohli said at the conference.
It was stated that players who are not a member of the Test squad for the New Zealand series were required to isolate and be a part of the bubble. “It’s pretty natural, we are not playing in normal times so there is a lot of planning that is involved, there is a lot of preparation that is involved in understanding what exactly will go on,” said Kohli.
