Harbhajan Singh Backs Hybrid Model for ICC Champions Trophy 2025
26th unbeaten bilateral series for India against Sri Lanka in India
History: 95th win for India against Sri Lanka, equals with Australia for most wins against a single opponent.
KL Rahul scored unbeaten 64 as India defeated Sri Lanka by 4 wickets in the second ODI at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday. With the win, India also gained an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series between the sides. India had won the first game by 67 runs.
Talking about Thursday’s game, India did lose wickets at regular intervals in their chase of 216 but a low target meant they were always in the driver’s seat. Earlier, three-wicket hauls each from Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj helped Team India to bundle out Sri Lanka for 215.
Kuldeep Yadav was brought into the playing XI as a replacement for the injured Yuzvendra Chahal, and Yadav’s inclusion proved to be worthy, as he ended up with figures of 3/51 at Eden Gardens, where he has played several matches for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League(IPL).
Kuldeep was adjudged Player of the Match, for his performance with the ball, as well as hitting the winning runs, finishing it up with a boundary.
