Roger Federer will end his glorious career at the upcoming Laver Cup! The 20-time Major winner has failed to recover from a nasty knee injury that has ruined his career in the past three years. The Swiss gave everything to recover and play competitive tennis again, although it was impossible after constant setbacks.
After much thinking, Federer decided to retire at Laver Cup in ten days, heading to retirement as one of the most accomplished players of all time. Roger has won 1251 matches in the past 25 years, standing at the top of men’s tennis for two decades and setting many records that will take some beating in the future.
After dominating men’s tennis between 2004 and 2009, Roger lost the ground a bit in the years to come, failing to match the pace of his younger rivals. The Swiss returned at his best in 2017 and claimed three out of five Major titles to extend his tally to 20.
Federer finished the 2019 season inside the top-3 after lifting the Masters 1000 crown and losing that epic Wimbledon final to Novak Djokovic. Roger could not keep the same pace in 2020 after experiencing a knee injury .
