PKL 9 Playoffs: Pardeep Narwal and UP Knocked out by Thalaivas

An encounter that lived up to its name, an encounter that had everything in it, drama, action, heartbreak, triumph and joy.

After an intense game that saw the teams test each other to the limits was won by the Tamil Thalaivas.

A team that has lost a couple of star players, saw a change in coach and a horrid run of form, have now managed to rise from the ashes as they set up a mouth watering semi final tie with the Puneri Paltan.

Majority of the game was controlled by the Thalaivas but the Record breaker managed to clinch an all out in the dying minutes of the game. But Ajinkta Pawar and Narender Hoshiyar managed to get a draw.

At the end of the 40 minutes, the scoreboard read UP Yoddhas 36 – 36 Tamil Thalaivas.

In the tie breaker, both teams are given 5 raids apiece. No defenders would be out and only raid points would be counted.

Moreover, the baulk line would be active as the bonus line and there will be 5 raiders from each team, with a maximum of 1 raid per raider.

While UP Yoddhas managed to catch the first raider of Tamil, Pardeep was unable to pass through the clutches of the Tamil defenders.

Ajinkya Pawar, Narendra Hoshiya managed to get crucial bonus points.

This put additional pressure on the raiders of the UP Yoddhas and as a result Tamil managed to emerge triumphant at the end.

They won the match 6-4 at the end of the tie breaker.

In a days time, the Tamil Thalaivas will meet the 2nd placed team in Puneri Paltan in Mumbai.
