PAK vs NZ : Sarfaraz rejoins the Test squad after 4 years

PAK vs NZ : For today’s first Test against New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi, Pakistan did not select Mohammad Rizwan.

With a high score of 46 in the second innings of the first Test at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium, Rizwan scored 141 runs in the three-match Test series against England at an average of 23.50.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, who hadn’t played a game in the purest form in over four years, received a comeback for the Test match against the Black Caps from Pakistan. At the Wanderers in Johannesburg, Sarfaraz’s most recent Test match came against South Africa back in January 2019.

At the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in 2022–2023, Sarfaraz performed admirably while representing Sindh. The experienced batsman collected 394 runs in 8 games at an average of 43.77, with a century and three half-centuries to show for his hard work.

The 35-year-old Sarfaraz’s debut Test on Pakistani territory will take place in the Karachi Test against New Zealand.

Sarfaraz has played in 49 Test matches, scoring 2657 runs at an average of 36.39, with three hundreds and 18 half-centuries to his credit.

Fast bowler Mir Hamza, who made his debut in 2018 but hasn’t had a chance since, was also given an opportunity by Pakistan.

Hamza was eventually included in the national squad along with off-spinner Sajid Khan and pacer Shahnawaz Dahani despite not being a member of the original team.

Pakistan recently faced a 0-3 loss to England and will like to conclude the year on a good note by giving the Kiwis a strong fight.
