Ritwik Das is a treasure discovered by Jamshedpur FC on their path to glory. The Bengal-born midfielder scored the game-winning goal in the Hero ISL League Shield, putting a dagger in the hearts of ATK Mohun Bagan.
After their win over the Mariners, the Indian footballer expressed his thoughts in a post-match interview.
What are your opinions on the League Shield-winning goal in the breakthrough season?
It feels fantastic. Winning this has been a goal of mine since the beginning of the season. It feels incredible to score in such a big match and against such a strong team like ATK Mohun Bagan, who have great players. It’s a fantastic sensation for me.
What is the secret to your enviable golden form?
He (Owen Coyle) is a difficult coach. He expects a lot from each one of his players. He instils faith in every player to perform at their peak, which only motivates us to strive for more, stay in condition, and put on a wonderful show.
What are your opinions on the possibility of winning both the League Shield and the ISL Trophy?
Jamshedpur FC has qualified for the ISL Semi-Finals for the first time. It was also the first time we competed for the League Shield, which we won. It means a lot to me and every other player.
Any thoughts on scoring the winning goal against ATK Mohun Bagan, a team from your native state?
It’s an incredible feeling, but I’m now a Jamshedpur FC player. I’m solely concerned with my team. It’s an incredible feeling to win the League Shield and then score against ATK Mohun Bagan.
