After last year’s ATP Finals, Novak Djokovic and his long-time coach Marian Vajda are no longer working together, the Serbian tennis star announced on Wednesday. On the eve of the Australian Open in January, Djokovic was deported, and Russian Daniil Medvedev took over as the world’s number one on Monday.
On his official website, Djokovic, 34, wrote: “Marian has been at my side for some of the most significant and memorable events in my career.
Djokovic have worked with Marian Vajda since 2006, apart from a year off in 2017
We have accomplished a lot together, and I appreciate his friendship and commitment over the past 15 years.
After the circuit finals in Turin in November, Vadja and Djokovic separated up.
Before Djokovic was expelled due to a visa issue over his COVID vaccination status, he was not spotted in Djokovic’s backroom crew in Melbourne.
“I’ve had the privilege of witnessing Novak’s growth into the player he is now,” Vajda remarked.
“I will cherish the memories we shared.
