At a consultation meeting with the Sports Ministry on the Draft National Sports Governance Bill, Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra emphasized the urgent need to improve sports infrastructure in India.
Alongside him, leading coaches advocated empowering Indian coaches to strengthen the country’s sports ecosystem. Chaired by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the meeting brought together top athletes and coaches from across India to discuss potential enhancements to the sports landscape through the proposed legislation.
Around 40 attendees, including Chopra, Nikhat Zareen, Bhavani Devi, Gagan Narang, Samaresh Jung, and Ashok Kumar, joined in person, with an additional 120 joining virtually to provide their input on this crucial initiative.
