India Vs Pakistan: The Battle For Bronze

India and Pakistan, tournament favourites, were both beaten in the Men’s Asian Champions Trophy on Tuesday, placing up a highly expected conflict between the two rival teams but in the 3rd place play-off and unfortunately not the final.

Japan and South Korea will be playing in the final after India vs Pakistan match on the same day. The match will start at 3 pm IST on Wednesday. Combined defending winners India and Pakistan’s influence on the Asian Champions Trophy reached an ending with 3-5 and 5-6 failures to Japan and Korea respectively.

Defending winners and Olympic bronze medallist India blabbed out a below-par play to sorrow a shocking 3-5 defeat against Japan in the second semifinal of the Asian Champions Trophy men’s hockey tournament on Tuesday.

India was the immense favourites before the beginning of the game after having beaten the same competitors 6-0 in their last round-robin match and also on head-to-head history, but the Japanese had other goals. Penalty strikes towards the end allowed Japan to keep the two-goal head up. Afterward, a guarding knock from the Tokyo Olympics bronze medallists directed to the fourth goal before Japan made it 5-1 towards the ending of the third quarter.

The fierce fourth quarter was denominated by Harmanpreet Singh, who scored one to lower the drought. A PC rebound aided India to catch one more goal but their undefeated feast finished with the defeat versus Japan. India will now face Pakistan for the bronze on Wednesday (December 22).
