India Beat Bhutan In Women’s SAFF C’ships

The Indian U-19 women’s football team won their second back-to-back SAFF U19 Women’s Championship match on Wednesday, beating Bhutan 3-0 in Dhaka.

India conquered the first half of the meeting. India’s Sumati Kumari gave the team lead in the 7th minute before Priyangka Devi smashed the mount in the 41st and 53rd minutes. India began the match within their hold. Their tough work and domination in the game gave fruit as early as in the seventh minute when Sumati Kumari flared the scoring.

Bhutan attempted to get back into the match but they were never competent to put past the Indian defence under much strain. Priyangka Devi was the midfield attacker for India, giving some excellent set-pieces.
In the 17th minute, Priyangka twisted in a great junction from the left, and Shilky Devi got on the back of it but her header went off the mark.

India held their attacking form and ultimately located their second goal through another set part. This time, India earned a free-kick on the border of the box and Priyangka Devi strike a thrilling goal left-footer to past the goalkeeper.

After the pause, India continued to pressure the opponent’s defence. It bore off when a cross-kick from Kristina Devi in the 53rd minute was sent into the net by Priyangka to achieve her second goal of the game.

India will play their next game against the hosts Bangladesh on Friday with a high spirit after the wonderful win against Bhutan.
