The Haas Formula One team will be missing the starting of the official Pre-season testing as the team’s freight had arrived late due to some technical difficulties. The plane which was supposed to transport the team freight from the UK to Bahrain was grounded due to technical issues in Istanbul. The cargo was eventually delayed by 48 hours and gave the technical staff a massive task to get the car ready for the Thursday morning run-ins. Hence, they will have to start its official pre-season testing later than all the other teams.
They will be aiming to be ready by the afternoon sessions on day one of the testing with their reserved driver Pietro Fittipaldi taking over driving duties for the day.
“I can confirm our freight arrived late last night to the circuit in Bahrain. This delay will impact our program but we are targeting being out on track for the second session Thursday afternoon with Pietro Fittipaldi driving the VF-22.”
Haas has been involved in all kinds of news before the start of the 2022 season as the news of the delayed freight has come just days after the racing company had decided to part ways with their young Russian driver Nikita Mazepin amidst the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
