Charles Leclerc and Ferrari show they’re the real deal this season. The French formula driver got his 10th pole position as he and Max Verstappen make up the front row.
Carlos Sainz who was on provisional pole ended up on the third spot to make a 1-3 for Ferrari.
Sergio Perez finished 4th to make up a 2-4 for Red Bull.
Lewis Hamilton who looked off pace finished in the 5th position. Lewis’ ex teammate Valtteri Bottas finished 6th in his first ever qualifying for Alfa Romeo Ferrari.
Haas qualified for the Q3 for the first time since 2019 as Kevin Magnussen finished 7th.
Vetteran Fernando Alonso in the Alpine finished in the 8th position above youngster George Russell who in his Mercedes finished 9th.
Pierre Gasly who topped FP1 surprisingly finished at the last spot in Q3.
Both the Mclaren drivers failed to qualify for Q3. Lando Norris finished in the 13th place while his teammate Daniel Ricciardo finished way down in the 18th place.
Aston Martin had a disappointing qualifying as well. Both drivers failing to qualify for Q2. Nico Hulkenberg finished in the 17th spot and Lance Stroll in the 19th.
Williams driver Alex Albon finished in the 12 position whereas Nicholas Latifi finished at the 20th spot.
Max Verstappen happy with his qualifying, said that he is looking forward to the tense match up with Ferrari on Sunday.
Ferrari would be very happy with the qualifying and will be hoping to see both of its drivers finish on the podium.
