Drama All Around As Ferrari secure a double podium

After a thrilling finish to the race, Ferrari take the lead in the constructors championship as Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz finish 1st and 2nd.

Ferrari had shown blistering pace in the qualifying as well as free practice as Charles Leclerc was set to start on pole.

Leclerc and Ferrari got their strategies spot on as they went on to win their first race in 46. The last time Ferrari got a 1-2 finish was in 2019 when Sebastian Vettel went on to win the race with today’s winner Leclerc came in 2nd.

Red Bull and Max Verstappen tried to undercut Leclerc and Ferrari twice, but failed to get in front of Leclerc. The first time they tried the undercut, Max Verstappen was just 3 tenths of a second behind the Ferrari man.

This led to one of the most interesting battles in the race as the two went wheel to wheel for a couple of laps, before Max Verstappen’s lock up helped Leclerc create a gap.

The second time Red Bull tried the undercut, Max was not as close to trouble Leclerc.

Pierre Gasly was left frustrated as he experienced power failure, moments before his car caught on fire.

Safety Car was in for 4 laps before Leclerc got off to a great restart vs a struggling Max Verstappen.

The current World Champion had issues with the steering wheel and lost power. As a result, he had to retire from the race.

An unfortunate finish to the race for the world champion.

His teammate Sergio Perez faced a similar issue as his engine stopped working in the last lap.

Red Bull went from a 2nd and 4th place finish for their drivers to retiring them both in a matter of a couple of laps.

A disappointing day for them as they lost position to rivals Ferrari and Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton couldn’t believe his luck as even after a disappointing weekend, he managed to get a podium finish.

Haas and Kevin Magnussen finished in the top 5 for the first time in ages.

Valtteri Bottas had a great debut race for Alfa Romeo as he finished at the 6th position.

Estaban Ocon, Yuki Tsunoda, Fernando Alonso and Guanyu Zhou made up the top 10.

Williams, Mclaren and Aston Martin – all had their drivers finish in the bottom half of the table to cap off a disappointing weekend.
