Deepak Chahar is doubtful for the Sri Lanka series due to a hamstring injury.

Deepak Chahar, an India seamer, injured his right hamstring during the third T20 International against the West Indies and has been ruled out of the Sri Lanka series, which begins on Thursday. Chahar, who was in good form and had two early wickets, was spotted hobbling up in his run-up in his second over and walking off the field.

Chahar appeared to be in discomfort as he was taken off the field following India’s 17-run victory against the West Indies in the third T20I in Kolkata on Sunday. The seriousness of the injuries is being determined.

In the event of a tear, Chahar might be a dubious starter in the IPL, where the Chennai Super Kings paid a whopping Rs 14 crore during the auction to keep his services, according to the news agency.

A grade one tear typically requires six weeks of healing and therapy. He may have to go immediately to Bengaluru to attend a rehabilitation programme at the National Cricket Academy.

He is now a questionable starter for the three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka, which begins on February 24 in Lucknow. India will play the final two Twenty20 Internationals on Saturday and Sunday before the two-match Test series begins in the first week of March. The 10-team IPL 2022 will most likely begin in the last week of March.
