CWG2022:The Indian team secured its first medal in the commonwealth games event by making it to the final of the women’s force event of the lawn balls. The Indian women’s team defeated New Zealand 16-13 in the lawn bawl. India will now face South Africa in the final.
Weightlifter Ajay Singh missed out on a bronze medal in the men’s 81kg category on Monday. Ajay Singh lifted 319 kg and finished fourth. England’s Chris Murray (325 kg) won the gold with a games record. Ajay lifted 138 kg in the first attempt of snatch, 140 kg in the second and 143 kg in the third. At the same time, in the clean and jerk, he lifted weights of 172 and 176 kilograms. In the third attempt, Ajay wanted to lift 180 kg but he failed.
