Coach Steffan Jones has been appointed by the Rajasthan Royals

Steffan Jones has been appointed as the Rajasthan Royals‘ High-Performance Fast Bowling Coach ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. In 2019, Steffan Jones was the team’s fast bowling coach.

According to a media release, Jones will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, direction, and support to all bowlers in the Royals’ setup throughout the year, with an emphasis on the off-season and the build-up to the IPL season.

At the Royals’ High-Performance Centre in Nagpur, Jones will work with the Royals’ bowlers during their preseason camp during which they will prepare for the season ahead.

Jones expressed his joy at returning to the Rajasthan Royals and expressed gratitude to the franchise’s management for the chance. We have so many outstanding bowlers among our ranks, I’m looking forward to working with them throughout the year and preparing them to peak and thrive when tournament season finally rolls around.

In addition to working with the RR Academies around the world, the former pacer will also assist with the facilities’ technical integration.

Current and prospective Royals players also had the opportunity to visit and train with Jones, where former Royals players Jaydev Unadkat and Varun Aaron had already successfully completed development work during the off-season.

“Steffan has been intimately linked with the franchise over the last several years, so he knows the culture completely, and brings with him a highly capable teaching approach, which has been praised by both players and management in the past,” said Royals Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara.

“We are happy to welcome him back to the franchise in his new job, where he will work with our bowlers and provide assistance to them throughout the year, and we are certain that his knowledge can take us to greater heights.”
