BWF World Championships: Indian badminton ace Kidambi Srikanth entered the history books when he beat fellow Lakshya Sen 17-21, 21-14, 21-17 to become the first Indian man to enter the finals at the eminent event.
The exciting all-Indian men’s singles semi-final proven out to be a thrilling match to every badminton lover as it prevailed an hour and nine minutes. After triumphing the ending point against Sen, an appear-worn-out Kidambi dropped to the ground. Fans took to Twitter to congratulate both players for showing outstanding talents and engaging everyone with some end-to-end badminton.
It was a difficult victory for the 28-year-old as 20-year-old Lakshya gave his senior a hard moment and darted like driving it to the final. Lakshya had an upper hand after the sixth point and headed into the rest with an 11-8 head up.
Later, when the youngster was moving ahead at 15-11, Srikanth came back with three hits to level it 16-16. However, at 17-17 Srikanth skipped a shot and found the net. He then lost the next three points with two more natural errors.
Kidambi will continue his drive-in BWF World Championships with a silver medal ensured, Whereas Lakshya’s race for this tournament ended on the bronze medal.
